As Grace seeks to “draw near to the Lord” in 2019, the first step will be setting aside the entire month of February (28 days) for prayer and fasting. The hope is for everyone in our Grace Community to participate.
There are many ways and options to take part in our 28 Days of Prayer and Fasting:
We’ve created a 28-day Bible Reading Plan. We will be employing the S.O.A.P. method for reading and journaling during these 28 days. Grace will be on the same passage every day, asking and seeking the Lord from the same scripture together. We know God is faithful and will speak powerfully to us.

We encourage you to take part in this great opportunity to draw closer to the Lord. Fasting is more than food. It's eliminating anything in our lives that is holding us back from “drawing near the Lord”. In other words, what do you “consume” in terms of social food, intellectual food, spiritual food, and emotional food that is distracting you from your relationship with God?
Below are links to two very important articles to read about fasting, various kinds of fasts and suggestions for making a fast successful.
Food Fast - abstain from food - partially or completely for 28 days. (see article)
Juice Fast - only partake of fruit and vegetables (see article)
Media Fast - no television, internet or social media!
Word Fast - eliminate toxic words from your vocabulary
